Ten years prior to Sheffield & Richards LLP, Gary started off working as a law clerk at Nguyen Gribble in 2013. He was also attending law school at Western State at the same time. He graduated magna cum laude and passed the bar in 2014. Gary worked his way up at Nguyen Gribble to becoming a partner in 2020. Sheffield & Richards LLP was started in 2024 after the retirement of Brad Gribble and Thu Nguyen. Gary particularly excels in the trial and appellate area, including having filed Petitions and Answers for Writ of Review to the Fourth District California Court of Appeals. Gary is also a NITA trained attorney. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Jake earned both his bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate from University of La Verne. While in law school, he actively competed in moot court competitions and engaged in experiential learning. Through externships Jake worked as a judicial clerk with the EEOC and worked in ADA compliance and disability discrimination. Jake joined Nguyen Gribble, APC in 2014 before becoming a partner in 2020. The firm would go on to be renamed Nguyen Gribble Sheffield Richards, before Sheffield & Richards LLP was founded. As an attorney, Jake has practiced both as an applicant and defense attorney. He has trial experience, has taken over 1,000 depositions, defended 132(a) along with serious and willful claims, prepared appellate briefs, and aggressively followed the medical-legal process in all of his cases through to completion. In setting matters up for QME and AME evaluations, Jake writes substantive, well-crafted position statements to ensure that each report is substantive to avoid the increased cost and delay of repeated supplemental reporting and cross-examinations, where possible. Jake’s greatest loves are hearing himself talk, his wife, and his two children (not necessarily in that order).

Patrick began working as a law clerk with Nguyen Gribble Sheffield Richards LLP following his return from New York City after graduating from the the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he garnered multiple oral advocacy awards as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, also being awarded the Jacob Burns Medal for special and significant achievements. After passing the bar exam and providing zealous representation to various insurance carriers and third-party administrators, Patrick gained employment with a highly reputable applicant attorney firm, where he gained invaluable experience. In 2022, Patrick returned to Nguyen Gribble Sheffield Richards LLP, where he has continued to pursue cost-effective resolution of cases, ensuring all issues are addressed.

Doug attended UC Irvine where he received his bachelor’s degree in History, and then attended UCLA School of Law where he received his J.D. While in law school he participated in a summer internship program where he clerked for a judge on the Federal Court of Appeals. During law school he also clerked for an attorney in Century City working on court appointed criminal appeals. Before joining Nguyen Gribble, Doug worked for an Orange County workers’ compensation defense firm for 16 years. He has extensive experience in litigating both case in chief issues and liens. Doug enjoys litigating and is committed to the principle that a good file is a closed file! Doug particularly enjoys settlement negotiations and resolving cases for less than the established authority. Doug also has experience in pursuing subrogation and in third party settlement credit issues.

Tala began her career as an attorney after graduating from Southwestern Law School. Before law school, she earned her bachelor's degrees in political science and behavioral sciences from the University of La Verne. While attending Southwestern, Tala clerked with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office and the Los Angeles Law Library, and worked as a research assistant to a legal writing professor and a legal research company. Tala provides exceptional legal services to her clients and brings a blend of professionalism and passion to every case she handles. Her negotiation skills serve her well during case handling and lien litigation by delivering noteworthy results. Tala speaks Arabic fluently and enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and family.

Tiffany was born and raised in Houston, TX. She obtained her JD from Trinity Law School in Santa Ana, CA. She finds joy in Workers’ Compensation as it provides the opportunity for work-life balance. Outside of work, Tiffany is a loving wife to her husband, Patrick, who has been her unwavering support throughout her career. Tiffany and Patrick are parents to two very energetic boys, so their weekends are filled with kids’ parties, amusement parks or traveling to various destinations. One of Tiffany’s greatest passions is travel. Her goal is to take her sons to a different country each year so they can interact with different people and be educated with different cultures and their ideology. She believes that traveling is the best education.

Sam began working in the legal field in 2018 as a paralegal at a civil defense firm. In 2021, he began law school at the University of La Verne – College of Law and graduate Summa Cum Laude in 2024. While in law school, Sam was active on campus and brought back a club that had gone dormant, Society of Legal Studies and Business. As Vice President, and subsequently, President of the club, he organized and presented multiple events from attorney panels and interview workshops to review sessions for students and food drives during the holidays. Sam was also involved as a teaching fellow and tutor. Sam went on to pass the Bar and join Sheffiled and Richards LLP in 2024. Sam hopes to develop his skills as an attorney to efficiently and ethically resolve his cases. In his free time, Sam enjoys playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family and friends.
